Landscape Architects at the Service of Aristocracy
The exhibition presents several valuable documents from the Lobkowicz family archive, showcasing both the historical and intended, but not implemented designs of the gardens and parks of Lobkowicz residences. On display are plans of the Baroque gardens at the Roudnice nad Labem castle, as well as their interwar appearance. During that period, extensive renovations included the addition of an outdoor swimming pool to the castle park. A particularly interesting document is a 1876 proposal for a radical reconstruction of Nelahozeves Castle and its grounds.
In the castle shop, you can also purchase a scarf or notebook featuring a motif from a Baroque sketch depicting a ceiling design for one of the garden pavilions at the Roudnice castle.
