Considered one of the finest extant arms collections in Europe, this collection of approximately 1,200 arms includes not only guns, cannons, and armor, but also early model artillery, decorated crossbows, and associated items that date from the 16th to the early 20th centuries. Bearing witness to the long tradition of hunting across Lobkowicz estates are hundreds of mounted trophies spanning the 18th to early 20th centuries and fine examples of rifles and pistols from some of the most renowned gunsmith workshops in Central Europe. Long since the last of these guns were fired, they stand not only as objects of beauty, but also a window into the cultural and court life of the Bohemian nobility in the 17th and 18th centuries.
